ATLANT 3D, European Space Agency and Thales Alenia Space partnership

Copenhagen, January 8, 2024

ATLANT 3D, European Space Agency and Thales Alenia Space partner to advance space economy with cutting-edge advanced packaging technologies.

ATLANT 3D, a pioneering deep-tech company building the worlds most innovative atomic-scale advanced manufacturing platform, has joined forces with Thales Alenia Space, a prominent player in the aerospace sector, and funded by European Space Agency (ESA) to develop advanced packaging technologies aimed at addressing critical issues in space economy, including climate change, security, and telecommunications.

In an exciting development for space economy, ATLANT 3D has announced a landmark partnership with Thales Alenia Space, a key player in satellite systems and orbital infrastructure, and European Space Agency (ESA). The collaboration will focus on developing advanced packaging technologies and a new concept for high integration, thermal, and RF performance modules, addressing the dynamic needs of the modern space economy.

The partnership aligns with the industry’s shift towards diversified orbital altitudes—GEO, MEO, and LEO — as well as the growing demand for differentiated broadband services. With the rise of the “New Space” paradigm, this collaboration aims to deliver technologies tailored to specific requirements, ranging from low to medium production scales.

These innovative technologies are key to evolving from theoretical concepts to validated ideas. Through this project, ATLANT 3D, Thales Alenia Space, and ESA are not just developing new technologies but also establishing a roadmap for transforming promising ideas into concrete, tested solutions. This journey from concept to validation is crucial in setting new benchmarks in the space economy, potentially leading to groundbreaking advancements in climate change mitigation, security, and telecommunications.
