Klaipeda University and ATLANT 3D Partner to Build Advanced Technology Infrastructure in Lithuania
COPENHAGEN, Denmark, August 26, 2026 — Klaipeda University (KU) and Danish deep-tech company ATLANT 3D has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance research, technology development and innovation infrastructure in Lithuania. The partnership brings together KU’s multidisciplinary research capabilities and ATLANT 3D’s programmable atomic-scale manufacturing platform, with a long-term ambition to explore the development of an A-HUB Lithuania innovation ecosystem in western Lithuania to advance the development of strategic sectors including advanced sensors for marine and environmental monitoring.
Based on the A-HUB model developed by ATLANT 3D in Copenhagen, A-HUB Lithuania would provide a shared environment connecting research, studies, technology transfer, entrepreneurship, industry and strategic partners with industry. An A-HUB is an autonomous materials foundry that combines artificial intelligence, atomic-scale manufacturing and automated testing in a closed-loop system capable of discovering, validating and scaling advanced materials and technologies. The aim is to help turn scientific ideas into physical technologies that create value for science, business and society, for a better life on Earth and beyond.
Under the memorandum, KU and ATLANT 3D will carry out joint research, develop prototypes, prepare applications for international projects, and involve students and PhD candidates in their activities. Their cooperation is intended to accelerate the path from materials discovery and laboratory research to testable devices and technologies that can be scaled for industry.
ATLANT 3D develops technologies for programmable atomic-scale manufacturing. Its proprietary Direct Atomic Layer Processing (DALP®) technology and NANOFABRICATOR® platform enables materials to be deposited with atomic-scale precision exactly where needed, connecting digital materials design with physical experimentation and device development. The technology supports rapid experimentation and prototyping across advanced materials, nanoelectronics, optics, photonics, sensors and other emerging applications.

One of the first areas being explored under the collaboration is the development of advanced sensors for marine and environmental monitoring. This work would combine ATLANT 3D’s capacity for accelerated materials discovery, rapid prototyping and industrial scaling with KU’s applied expertise and facilities for testing and refining solutions under demanding real-world conditions.
